What exactly is Employee Homepage?
It’s a secure website, with your own bespoke URL, for your employees to use to access the Hive features and have their say.
So how exactly does employee homepage work?
When you log into Hive as a platform user, there will be a navigation option of the bottom left which allows you to access the employee homepage how your people see it, and you’ll be given a simple URL (YourCompanyName.hive.hr/myhive) to share with your employees.
When they visit the website, they’ll be asked to verify themselves by entering at least three attributes into the required fields. The first two fields will always be first and last name, but you get to decide the third field; this MUST be a "text" based attribute such as Unique ID, or a "date" based attribute such as Date of Birth. You can’t use a "segment" based attribute, such as department, location, or line manager name.
But don’t worry—their identities will remain completely protected, just as they always have been.
Once they’re in, they can choose to either complete a survey, leave an Open Door submission, or send a Hive Five (depending on if there is a survey running and what features you have turned on). So, if your employees bookmark the URL, then having their say is just one click away!
We’ll still send out email and SMS reminders, but now employees will have direct access, making it easier for them to leave feedback. Because it’s easier, they’ll use it more often—there’ll be more surveys completed, more submissions to Open Door, and more Hive Fives—giving you more data to drive positive change for your people!
To get set-up, just let your Customer Success Manager know. All we need are the verification attributes your employees will use to log in, and then you’re good to go!
If employees have to log in, how are their identities protected?
Employees log in using their first name, last name and a chosen attribute, but once on the platform their survey responses, Hive Fives and Open Door feedback all remain confidential; no names or information are attached to their responses. The reason behind the login is simply to verify themselves to ensure they are part of the company before responding, to make it as secure as possible—not to breach confidentiality.
As with all aspects of Hive, your employees’ info is always confidential and completely protected (it’s all here in our Confidentiality Commitment).
So how exactly do I turn the employee homepage on?
It’s as simple as:
-
Contact your Customer Success Manager
-
Pick the attributes you want your team to use when accessing the homepage (First name and Last name will always be required, but the third attribute is up to you!)
-
Share your unique URL (CompanyName.hive.hr/myhive) with your people
-
Let the feedback flow!
Get the most out of employee homepage
- Advise your employees to use your homepage access to leave Hive Fives and Open Door feedback whenever the time feels right
- Make sure your people know the attribute they need to log in. To amend your attributes or double-check what they are, drop a message to our Support team
- Remember, the more you inspire your people use the homepage, the more feedback you will receive—meaning more insight to improve your organisation
- Including spaces by mistake when logging in will stop the user successfully accessing their Hive tools. e.g. “ Jane” instead of “Jane”
