Overview
The Suggestion Board is a public-facing feed on the Employee Homepage that lets your organisation share approved employee feedback openly — along with an admin response — so employees can see their voice is making a difference.
ℹ️ It sits within Open Door and gives admins a controlled, transparent channel for closing the feedback loop at scale, without compromising anonymity.
Why it matters
Most feedback collected through Open Door is private by default. The Suggestion Board creates an optional layer of visibility — surfacing selected submissions publicly so employees can see what's been raised and how the organisation is responding. This builds trust, encourages future participation, and helps prioritise the issues that matter most.
How the feed works
A submission only appears on the public feed when both the employee and an admin have approved it. Neither party can publish alone. This dual-consent model means:
- Employees are always in control of whether their feedback is eligible to be shared
- Admins decide which eligible submissions are actually made public
- No submission is ever surfaced without both parties agreeing
‼️ All posts on the feed are strictly anonymous. Employee names, job titles, departments, and any other identifying information are never shown.
Upvoting
Employees can upvote any submission on the public feed to signal support. Admins can see upvote counts in the Open Door Dashboard, which helps surface which ideas or issues have the broadest backing across the organisation.

🚩 Note on category eligibility: Category eligibility is set at account level. Submissions from a category that hasn't been enabled for the feed cannot be made public. We recommend excluding sensitive categories such as Wellbeing.
