A Secure Magic Link is a one-time, encrypted link sent directly to a user's email inbox. When the user clicks the link, they are instantly signed in to Hive - no password required. Each link is single-use and expires after a short period, making it both convenient and secure.

Magic Links are available for both employees and dashboard (manager/admin) users.

Why use Secure Magic Links?

  • Passwordless - eliminates the risk of forgotten or weak passwords
  • Out-of-the-box 2FA - because the link is delivered to a user's inbox, access to their email acts as a second verification factor, satisfying Cyber Essentials requirements.
  • No setup for employees - they simply click the link when they want to sign in

How to Enable Secure Magic Links

From your admin dashboard, open Account Settings → Authentication.

Scroll to the Secure Magic Links section.

Toggle on Enable Magic Links.

Click Save Changes.


Once enabled, your team will see a Sign in with a Magic Link option on the Hive sign-in page. They enter their email address, receive an email from Hive, and click the link to gain instant access.
