Where can I find my Question Bank?

To access your Question Bank:

  1. Navigate to the Surveys menu.
  2. Click Question Bank.

Here, you can view, add, and manage questions ready to use in any future survey. Think of it as your personal library of survey-ready content.

How do I add a question from My Question Bank to a survey?

When you’re in the Survey Builder:

  1. Open the Design tab.
  2. In the design menu, click ‘Open Question Bank’.
  3. Browse your own saved questions or pick from Hive’s pre-built question library.
  4. Just drag and drop your chosen questions into your survey. Simple!

Can I edit a question after it’s been added to a survey?

Not directly. Once a question is used in a survey, it becomes locked to preserve its original wording. This ensures your data remains consistent over time, which is crucial for comparing results and benchmarking trends.


Want to make a change? Create a new question with your updated wording and save it to My Question Bank.


Best practice tip: Even small wording tweaks can affect how people interpret and respond to a question. Always test new versions before rolling them out widely.

Can I translate questions in My Question Bank?

Yes, you can either:

  • Input your own translations, or
  • Use machine translation, then tweak the wording as needed.

To translate a question:

  1. Click the settings cog on the question.
  2. Choose a specific language or select ‘Translate from English to all Languages’.
  3. Want to add manual translations? Use the language dropdown in the top-right corner to select a language and enter your version. Don’t forget to hit Save!

The platform will flag any missing translations so nothing slips through the cracks.

Will question settings from My Question Bank carry into surveys?

Yes, any settings you apply in My Question Bank (like making a question mandatory) will be reflected in the surveys you use them in. However, you’ll be able to make amendments to these settings in Survey Builder, for example you may want to allow or disallow question comments from survey to survey 

Who can manage the Question Bank?

Anyone with Survey Builder permissions will be able to view and manage your Question Bank. This ensures everyone involved in survey creation is working from the same set of trusted questions.

Why reuse questions?

Reusing the same question over time lets you:

  • Track progress more reliably
  • Benchmark results internally
  • Avoid survey fatigue from constantly changing formats
