Magic Links are also a passwordless login method that allows users to log in or authenticate themselves by clicking a unique, one-time-use link sent directly to their email (or sometimes via SMS).
What are Magic Links?
To make Hive even easier and even more secure to use, we’ve introduced: Magic Links.
Whenever Hive sends you a notification, like a request to take part in a survey or send a Hive Five, that email includes a unique link made just for you and that specific action.
This approach has clear benefits:
- Increases response rates by simplifying participation.
- Hive makes sure responses are correctly attributed, segmented, and securely stored.
With Magic Links, accessing your unique link is now even more secure. If your login session expires, Hive will send a secure link to your email or phone number.
Administrators and Managers can still sign in the usual way, using the Employee Homepage or your current Hive login page.
Expiration & Re-authentication
How does it work?
- Hive sends an employee an email (or SMS) with a prompt, for example, to take a survey or send recognition.
- If the employee accesses this link after it’s expired (7 days after it was sent) the Hive login page will ask them to request a new link via email (or SMS).
- The employee can then click the link in that message to securely access Hive; no password, no extra steps.
- The employee continues with the survey, feedback or recognition.
To keep your information secure, if you click a link older than 7 days, you’ll see a magic link message, and Hive will send you a fresh link to use instead. This new link will also be valid for 7 days.
Why this matters
Magic Links are part of Hive’s continued commitment to making the platform safer and easier to use. By reducing friction and improving security, we’re helping everyone access Hive with confidence.
